Focus Gallery: Marcel Duchamp poses an exceedingly rare opportunity for Miami audiences to experience the seminal French artist’s work firsthand. The exhibition presents Miami Art Museum’s edition of De ou par Marcel Duchamp ou Rrose Sélavy (Boîte-en-valise) [From or by Marcel Duchamp or Rrose Sélavy (Box in a Suitcase)], from 1935-41/1961, alongside a small treasure trove of works hailing from the extraordinary Mary Sisler Foundation Bequest in the collection of the John and Mable Ringling Museum of Art in Sarasota. Among other themes, Focus: Marcel Duchampexplores the subtle conceptual games that the artist brought to bear onto the process of editioning his own work.
