Artist Lorie Ofir lives and works in Miami, Florida. Her work explores the interconnections between human nature and the nature around us through expansive landscapes that defy horizon lines. Her more current practice is focused on sketchbook collaborations with her toddler and prenatal figure sculptures.
Lorie earned her BFA at the University of Florida and Florence University of the Arts. She holds a Special Education Certificate from the University of Central Florida. She has participated in artist residencies in Colorado, New York, and locally at The Deering Estate.
As a teaching artist at PAMM, the galleries are her classroom. Through inquiry-led tours, she enables youth to have personalized experiences with contemporary art as a catalyst for curiosity, empathy, and analytical thinking. Her youngest students are those of her monthly Baby & Me tours, and her most rewarding teaching experience is her mentorship with the PAMM Teen Arts Council.
