Book at private tour of Pérez Art Museum Miami (PAMM) for a memorable and unique experience. PAMM’s professional guides are highly-qualified experts such as professors, art critics and practicing artists, who can tailor your tour based on your group’s interests.
Tour what has been described as “the jewel” in Pritzker Price winning architects Herzog & de Meuron’s portfolio. You will visit both the exterior and the interior of the building paying attention to its unique design and construction elements, its gardens as well as the materials employed and its flexible plan.
This tour will introduce the visitor to the architecture of the museum and key works of art on view. Our guides start by exploring the museum’s architecture and hanging gardens, then bring the group inside to discuss key works form the collection and temporary exhibitions. This is our recommendation for first time visitors, giving guests an overview of all PAMM has to offer.
Permanent Collection: Within Genres (based on availability)
The current presentation of the permanent collection is organized around the historical criteria of genres within Western painting and the traditional hierarchy of genres that developed out of the Renaissance period and was promoted within European art academies up through the 19th century. The five genres explored in these galleries, Still Life, Landscape, Scenes of Everyday Life, Portraiture, and History Painting developed as categories when painting was still in its infancy as a respected medium.
Latin American and Caribbean Art: (June 9, 2017 – April 8, 2018)
With the Caribbean on our shores and the many local residents that come from those islands and Latin America, it is only natural that PAMM should make it a priority to collect and exhibit works by artists from that geographical region’s rich and varied artistic production. This tour will focus on artworks from the areas exhibited as part of the current presentation of our permanent collection and other temporary exhibitions, including On the Horizon: Contemporary Cuban Art from the Jorge M. Pérez Collection.
Family Tours (Fourth Saturday of Every Month, 1-2pm)
On the fourth Saturday of every month, discover the museum through an interactive family tour that includes conversations and art-making. The family-friendly experience highlights artworks on view from the permanent collection and special exhibitions.
