As part of PAMM Free Second Saturdays, create artwork inspired by Brazilian artist Hélio Oiticica’s Penetrável Macaleia. Oiticica created various Penetrável walk-in installations that immersed the viewer in color within environments that evoked and celebrated the favela communities of Rio de Janeiro. Recall a fun memory, and create your own cube of color inspired by the past all in one afternoon. PAMM teaching artists will guide visitors of all ages in art making using color, shape, and textured materials to fill their own box of colorful memories.
For the rest of the day, you can explore the galleries, grab a meal at Verde, or sit back and enjoy the breeze on the waterfront terrace.
